Sad day for me for a variety of reasons:
1) It's Monday!
2) Sarah hugged me more than usual this weekend. Could she be missing me already, even though we haven't left yet? I sure am missing her.
3) I helped my buddy Lee depart this morning. We became exceptional friends in a short period of time, and I cried watching him unfurl the jib and aim Jargo south. Today marks the first day of his attempt at sailing around the world.
I am not so ambitious! No... for me, some easy "rockhopping" around the Caribbean is more than enough adventure, thank you.

Well it was a difficult day for me (Eliz), it was my last day at FMC dialysis of Alvin and Pearland. I've been working with FMC on and off since 1997 when I graduated with my masters. I moved to Lafayette, LA after graduate school for that job Here I am 11 years later telling many good friends good-bye again. This time it is much harder for me.... I don't hate my job, and I'm very good at it, I will miss my patients and co-workers very much. At the same time, I'm leaving another job that I love so much, it is my part-time spinning instructor position at the Fitness Center at South Shore. I've been working there in various positions for a few years and will miss the healthy environment I've enjoyed.

36 degrees this morning. Too cold for me. Time to head south.
Quite a bit of work completed this weekend: Starter for the engine back in action. Compass on the Autopilot functioning. ServoRudder on the Aries windvane. etc,etc. Also... got one step closer to 'freedom' - sold my truck. My Baby for 9 years! I bought that thing new and racked-up 135,000 miles in it. But, finally had to clean it out and close another chapter. I couldnt look at the damn thing as the new owner drove it out of the parking lot. Just the sound of the rumbling engine was making me tear up. Silly how I get attached to inanimate objects.

Returned to the boat after a great visit with E's family;
Lee, from sv Jargo hit a speed bump and returned to the marina for a couple days. It is good to visit with him again.
Unpacked, repacked, unpacked packed the boat, and started getting ready for the next road trip. Trying to talk Lee into spending New Year's with the Latiolais family....

Get a passport for Sarah!!! Drive to Araundville, Louisiana for a visit with Oscar's family. The plan is to cook lots of food including a Gumbo and have a bon-fire, then blow up shit (fireworks) New Year's eve. Jeanne will cook New Year's day lunch.
